PET Polyethylene Terephthalate
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a thermoplastic material belonging to the polyester family. It has areas of use such as beverage, food and beverage containers, and synthetic fiber. Depending on its heat treatment, it is available in amorphous (transparent) and semi-crystalline (opaque and white) materials. The most important advantage of use is that it is fully recyclable. Unlike other plastics, polymer chains are reinstated in later use. It is expressed with 1 as the pet raw material identification code.
